A filibuster is when one attempts to delay or prevent a vote on a proposal by extending a debate on that proposal. I think that a filibuster could either be good or bad for democracy, depending on the bill they are trying to delay or get rid of. The only time I would be against a filibuster is if the bill that was going to be passed actually had a good cause, but certain people were trying to prevent it from being passed.

I don't think opinion of seeing a bill as a good cause is a reason to extend a filibuster. I think it is a somewhat unprogressive way to prolong passing a bill and this is exactly what we don't need in our democratic congress right now.
ReplyDeletek cant you you just talk about anythig to delay it? and you cant eat or drink or sit. i think that that part is dumb. people should just make a pros and cons list and rule it out or approce it that way or something.
